event imageBooming Ground, the non-credit program of the University of British Columbia's renowned Creative Writing Program, offers an acclaimed series of mentorships in fiction, poetry, non-fiction and writing for children, taught by some of the best writers in the country. New this year are manuscript evaluations, by the same instructors.

Online Writing Mentorships & Manuscript Evaluation:

For sixteen weeks, receive personal, one-on-one feedback directly from one of our renowned writers. Sessions are held regularly throughout the year, and manuscript evaluations may be applied for at any time. Sessions are held throughout 2008, and instructors include writers Anita Rau Badami, Evelyn Lau, Robert Hilles, Lawrence Hill, Pearl Luke and Gayle Freisen.

Booming Ground is an ideal way for interested students to meet and work with renowned writers. Many alumni of Booming Ground go on to take writing courses at the undergraduate and graduate level here at UBC and at other institutions.
